This book has too much black humor. Not why I read David Sedaris. Some parts remind me too much of my own childhood, something of which I don’t need to be reminded. While I recognize this represents his life’s journey that’s not why I read his otherwise hilarious books. I regret having read it, even though I like him, am now quite successful. Paragraphs about child mistreatment, spousal abuse and human misery I do not find entertaining or humorous no matter what the context.
