I overall felt this movie was very well done. I was very hopeful that the two would have survived their grief and there would be recognition of love conquering all. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. With the two having their own spirals, I would have liked to see a little more from Seans side as well to grasp his own trauma instead of the immediate jump to sleeping with the cousin and resorting to drugs and then leaving. I was taken back by how loving he had been and then quickly throwing things at her and roughly throwing himself at her. But it quickly became understood that this director wanted the 5 stages of grief to be recognized. It spoke to how life can truly feel and be. There’s not always this satisfying happy ending. In life we have trauma and then find ourselves somewhere else as time goes on, not necessarily extravagantly. I agree with some other reviews wishing to see where Sean’s life had ended up just to feel more on my end like it was complete. But despite a few details, I enjoyed this one.
