I'll admit the first time through I was kind of like "I think I liked it a lot....I think so, right...(?)" It was overwhelming in the most understated manner imaginable, a contradiction that transports one out of their head in remarkable ways.
I eventually bought it because it simply cannot be absorbed in a single view. I'm at the point now where I think it's lightning bolt genius, yet no thunderclap; it's simply electrifying . Anderson managed to turn everything I ever imagined, desired, dreamed, or cherished about the NY'er..... into a movie. It sounds ridiculous. The pitch to make this film must have sounded absurd.
There's more social satire packed into this thing than anyone could grasp on a single view. That's the best comment I can make; one really, really needs to watch it a couple times to get it.
