Refreshing, silly, romantic, sentimental and sweet are all words Iโd use to describe Hart of Dixie. Itโs definitely worth watching AND absorbing. There are so many life lessons woven into the story but I never felt like it was sermonizing or lecturing. It was more like a gentle โahaโ moment. Of course the characters are often caricatures, thatโs one reason itโs so charming. The writers brilliantly capitalized on the charactersโ chemistry but tossed out red herrings and obstacles like dandelion fuzz blowinโ in the wind (say that again with a slow southern accent...). Just when you thought blah blah blah was going to happen....the story took a different direction. I am amazed that the writer wasnโt an Alabama native because so many, many aspects of the show were dead on. (I graduated from Auburn and my husband graduated from Alabama so we know exactly what itโs like to live in Alabama, how they talk, how they feel about football, fishing and fried food....but also the wonderful values and the importance of tradition, family and friendships.) Alabama can transform your life if youโre just patient enough to let it happen. By the end of the four seasons, you really feel like you are a part of Bluebell. I think a reunion episode would be delightful with all the campy, corny characters together again.
