The writing and pacing for this show kind of made it a waste of the potential. At first the plot line made sense and it was interesting. However as the show continued everything felt very fast paced which I think contributed to why many viewers felt that the characters' lack conviction within their choices and arcs. There were times where it felt like a plot line should've had more time to develop/ dive deeper into but instead had a rushed wrap up. This sucked because I genuinely liked and enjoyed the storyline, characters, romance, conflicts, etc. The actors did such an amazing job as well, I was truly captivated. I really hope there is a season 2 but the execution of the show would improve.
