As a lot of other reviews have already stated, this does not feel like a Ninja Gaiden game more like a spinoff in the Ninja Gaiden universe. I wouldn't have minded if they just called this Ninja Gaiden something else and changed the cover picture to show the Yokumo rather than the next installment in the NG series.
It has its fun moments but man the combat does not feel right for a Ninja Gaiden game especially after replaying Ninja Gaiden 2 black.
Wish platinum Games didn't go so far away from the way the combat felt in NG1 or NG2.
The hits don't have any impact to them really and it just feels like you are button mashing more than playing. The enemies don't show any damage on their bodies until the lose a limb which it makes it hard to tell which one you were on.
The Camera was all over the place as well kind of hard to keep track where you are when things get crazy.
All in all i just wish they wouldn't have called it NG4 and instead just sold it as a spinoff so people wouldn't get hyped for Ryu when you hardly play as him.
