Yes and no. A fascinating idea but I wanted to know more. In particular, I felt there should have been a final chapter, telling us what happened to the people in the village, to the Church clergy, the books, etc. Was that the end of science for another 1000 years or did others search for the past as well?

This a good film in both senses of the word. How many films have you seen a film which starts off with a prayer, in this case for the success of a British deception against the Germans in WWII? It really is an excellent film - the production, the script, the acting and the plot: although it is based on a true story which you may know, it will keep you nail-biting until the end!

Yes, it was excellent - the plot, the acting (especially โFreddieโ). BUT. The BBC, being the BBC couldnโt help itself making all the villains ENGLISH. But thatโs what we expect these days from the BBC. Just warningโฆ
