I am just so saddened having watched the new Baby-sitters Club on Netflix. In season 1 Episode 4 "Mary Ann saves the day" in a span of 5 minutes of the episode there was mention of parents divorcing because the dad was gay AND Mary Ann was babysitting a transgender adolescent. My 9 year old came at me with questions, rightly so, not understanding completely what was being said. I take full responsibility of not vetting this show but come on, it's the Baby-sitters Club. As a family we do not take issues with these topics, HOWEVER, we believe these are serious family conversations that should be conducted by the parents, not Netflix. To not give warning of such topics being presented on a show billed to young children (and rated TV-G) is egregious and Netflix should do much better. I understand we have the option to just turn the show off, which we did, and it will remain off.
