A fabulous book about a largely unknown but influential person of his time. The contemporary accounts of life in Australia and Peking at that time are excellent. Over 50 years ago I studied the Boxer Rebellion but this book is better than my studies at that time. Morrison was not just an observer of history, he was history. Wonderful
