A warm and beautiful film dealing with children at risk as Father Edward Flanagan (Spencer Tracy) starts a home for wayward boys. As a retired public school teacher who spent many years with students who could not adjust to a regular school/classroom environment, they were sent to what our district named as Community Day School where I taught the basic curriculum injected with patience, love, and lots of activities to enhance their lives inside and outside the classroom. I attribute Boys Town with its hard work, caring, and listening to the needs of all children as a role model for myself as an educator.
