I love the film and how Alden and Kathryn portrayed their characters so well. Others considered this film tragic because they parted ways and didn't end up with each other but for me, it is a happy ending for the both of them. Ethan fulfills his dream to own a bar while Joy finally got her visa to go to Canada and find the right job that fits her. It made me realize that love will not always be choosing each other but choosing and completing yourself first. You cannot be together if you're both broken and just find a cure in each other's arms while also continuing to be each other's pain. The better option is to fix ourselves first and let the time dictates our love and destiny. If we are each other's fate then our love will bloom at the right time.
