Overall I enjoy the coverage……but what I don’t understand is why does John McEnroe even have a platform here? For starters he’s so biased it’s cringeworthy…every year it’s the same with him…loves the elders in the game so much his commentary is useless. I watched the Djokovic/Runne match last night and it was clear the crowd was behind the kid and cheered for him to beat Novak REGARDLESS of what Novak is trying to accomplish. Novak is not a clear fan favorite and Fowler was commenting on the obvious penchant the crowd showed for the “Jokers” demise and McEnroe kept refuting him saying people need to respect Novak and give him his due. It was infuriating to listen to! This is a guy who was an ok player but nothing compared to say Federer, Nadal or even Novak….gained most of his popularity for being belligerent and unruly on court… yet we still have to listen to him run at the mouth while we try to enjoy modern drugless tennis. When I hear that he’s part of a match coverage…I just change the channel most of the time cause he just ends up ruining it for me.
