Loved it as much as the first one with Henry Fonda and C. Heston. Great cast and special effects. However, there is one Hollywood blooper in this film project and that is: Admiral Nagumo did not go down with Flag Ship as he intended. His staff officers tied him up with a rope and lowered to a lifeboat. But that did not end his career. Nagumo commanded their Central Pacific Fleet. During that tour of duty he killed himself in 1944 when the US Marines took Saipan. And then Midway was not the "begining of the end" for Japan either. It was later in the year (1942) at Guadalcanal when those Marines landed and captured the airfield. But I believe that the Director would have been wiser to show the failed suicide attempt by the Admiral as it depicts the disgrace of defeat, and dishonoring the ancestors. That would have been more perceptual to the audience. Aside from that it is a really great film and I will buy it. Also loved the closing scene at the night club where she sings All or nothing at All...

Best film project on the Cold War. Was released at the height of the SE Asian wars (Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam) but is totally apart on the other end of the world. This picture gives the viewer a glimpse of what the real conflict was all about between the U.S. and Soviet Union. It was about controlling the "center of the board" with ICBM silos, long range bombers and nuclear submarines. And the 3 men aboard the submarine all have the same objective in retrieving that capsule with the special emulsion film. And even Captain Anders is not the Marine Officer he is supposed to be. That guy is O.N.I. from head to foot. Nobody can be trusted between the 3 of them, and the Skipper (Rock Hudson) knows more than what is required to get those agents "up there!". The Russian commander with the SPETNAZ was also very believable. The ending was very much resolved between both sides - to the relief of everyone wanting to sleep at night...
