Cape crusader, it's probably in my bottom three of animated Batman shows. It takes the characters we love and basically tries to shock the viewer buy totally gender-swapping or race-swapping them and relying only on that shock value. But not only does it go for just pure shock value, it gives the characters no background development at all, relying on just throwing in ignorant mediocre type characters from a Penguin who does burlesque dance numbers and has 2 idiot bumbling, sons to a Clayface whose only talent is to mold his face and gets easily knocked out by Batman with one punch, making him a total boring threat. And don't even get me started on the Catwoman character that is so unlikable even before they bring out the dumbest thing ever "the catmobile?". Even the new characters they actually tried to create are mundane and boring from the bumbling idiot, sons of the Penguin to the female cop who is very uninteresting and should have had a character that had to fight against maybe female discrimination being A detective in a man's world. But the riders didn't want to develop character storylines like that when they could just shock you by making the Penguin a fat woman or making Barbara Gordon a black Lois Lane. Batman The Animated Series is ten times better then this. If they were gonna try to create a new type of universe don't base it of something that's already been done. I'm dreading, watching what's going to happen to Harley Quinn in the next episode. Warner Bros, please give us only one season and go back to creating something at least original. I will even take a Batman in space or a Batman in the 80's, but if you want to create your own universe please give us something like the Harley Quinn series, which is fifty times more creative than this junk or a Batman Ninja type universe.Kudos on creating the most initiating Batman ever though. He might scare a criminal if it's a kitten.
