Boring! Same characters, same story, not enough magic, lots of violence and it felt like I was watching some dumb teen movie with the new teen cast. Visually pretty of course but the story was such a cliche. And they dragged out a whale hunt and it had to be a mother and calf to make you feel extra sad😪 And of course the same villain survived! Lol I guess round three will be the same story! There was also a full on titanic scene? So unoriginal. The kids sounded like teens from earth not from a wise Indigenous culture and the spiritual undertones lacked depth when speaking about the ocean and our connection to water, it lacked true wisdom and used the same teachings from the last movie rather than teaching us something new. There was no deeper lesson that drew me into the this movie like the first avatar. One of the female kids was a cool character who was connected to Gaia (Mother Earth) but it could have been so much more and they just explained she had seizures and delusions rather than a cosmic connections to earth and all life. To bad they did not build on that character, that would have been a new adventure and a good lesson about gifted individuals connected to the great spirit instead she was weird and epileptic. If there was more esoteric wisdom in this movie that it would have felt original. Movies are all the same and that was the cool thing about the first avatar was getting a glimpse of a sacred culture and their ways.
