Our "hero" defrauds and embezzles over six million dollars from her investors and employees. Both groups had helped to make her wealthy and famous -- famous enough to warrant enough attention for a Netflix documentary series. And she shows not one shred of remorse! She pled guilty. She claims she pled guilty only because after blowing over $6 million she did not have enough money to mount a legal defense. It is obvious she HAD NO legal defense. She intimates she is not responsible for her crimes because she was psychologically tortured. A jury would have laughed and booed her off to prison. And the filmmakers have the gall to compare her to Patty Hearst. Patty Hearst was KIDNAPPED AT GUNPOINT. (Nevertheless, she was convicted.) This woman embezzled money repeatedly. She did it to please her husband. When the heat gets to be too much, the pair go on the lam. She claims she was confused-- i.e. that her escape does not prove consciousness of guilt . How confused could you be? You take off, use a fake name, and cover up an identifying tattoo? After committing all these crimes, she serves a few months in prison -- less than most criminals would serve for stealing $600, instead of $6 million. Aah, but she is pretty. And I really liked Leon, the dog. I'd give an extra half star for Leon.
