This was a nearly dialogue-free narrative set in a post-apocalyptic world. The story felt drawn out and vague, leaving key elements under explored. I am still wondering what’s the point to this movie and what the hell did I just use 86 mins to look at. The minimal exposure to the creatures and action detracts from its horror appeal, the movie ultimately feels like an ambitious concept that falls short in execution. If you’re a fan of atmospheric, experimental horror, Azrael might still be worth a watch, but its deliberate ambiguity and slow progression may leave you disappointed.
