Well personally Boruto is a very underrated show. Many people dislike it because they miss the constant fights and battles from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. However, Boruto takes place during a time of peace nearly 12 years after the 4th Great Ninja War. Another reason as to why people disliked Boruto was because of his bratty attitude towards Naruto. Yes that seemed to be the case, but if you kept watching the show you'd see that Boruto would mature as a character and with his skills as well. We also get to reminisce from Kakashi Sensei training Naruto, with Boruto's rasengan training. Like when Naruto went to fight Kakuzu, Boruto is training to strengthen his rasengan for his second encounter with Deepa. The next set of episodes leading to the Kawaki arc are pretty awesome, and from there on out it is must watch!! We learn about the Kara organization, and the vessels that they are after. The coming up episodes are incredible with the Kara coming after the vessel they are missing. With epic battles with Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto, and Kawaki! The craziest part is this is all just Boruto's memories from the start of the show when he was fighting Kawaki on the hokages faces!! I personally would rate this show a 4.2/5 right now, and leading up to the time skip it may go up to a 5/5. Can't wait!! Hope my explanation gets some new people into the show :)
