**Spoiler free**. I high hopes for this movie but think it could’ve been better told. Lots of potential. Pro’s: - Stunning visuals. - Rafiki’s narration. - Opening scene. - Mads Mikkelsen. Con’s: - Found the cuts to be distracting. They were used to cut into different moments of our hero’s story. In doing so they took away all the emotions the previous scenes had tried to build up. - The songs were forced/unnatural. The love song sprung me by surprise & the most notable song ‘bye-bye’ felt too childish to be sung by the further deadly-serious antagonist. - Scenes felt unfinished. In order to convey a sense of haste, I feel like scenes were cut short missing out on the opportunity to provide extra or necessary detail. - Ending. In general I think this could’ve been done better. But the, coming together as one, a powerful message could’ve been foreshadowed in the movie like so many other elements had been.
