Despite not being a J.R.R. Tolkien superfan and having only enjoyed the "Lord of the Rings" films and finding "The Hobbit" passable, I find "The Rings of Power" to be a solid and engaging TV series. While it's not a direct adaptation of Tolkien's books, it creatively draws from his extensive notes and appendices. The show may be a slow burner, but it’s beautifully crafted and keeps me entertained. While some criticise it, possibly due to its high budget raising expectations, I believe it’s a worthwhile watch for fantasy fans. Not every adaptation will be perfect, and creative liberties are often taken for dramatic effect. Overall, I think it’s a steady and visually impressive series that deserves more appreciation.
