As a fan of the book series, and having read the book and listened to the series at least a few times I'm invested in the characters and storyline. Amazon did everything they could to make a mess out of this novel. Between significant deviations from the story and poor casting decisions it made it difficult to watch the series the first time. I couldn't get through it a second time. I came back to give it another try quite awhile later. But it's painful to watch. The writers and other decision makers that took the series in the direction they did should never be allowed to work in TV or movies again. I hate to think of what they're doing to the second novel. The storyline and characters are what make the series, and there is no coming back from what they did to the first book.
