I wanted to love this movie, but I didn’t even like it. Underdeveloped plot that constantly begs the questions it never answers. Video games narrate better story lines. Yeah, the CGI is amazing - best ever. I just wish there was less filler scenes. One could easily shave an hour and fifteen minutes off this movie without changing a single thing. Just a bunch of boring and noisy action scenes, flying, swimming and hunting scenes but they won’t bring you any closer to the characters or their back stories. The repeated kidnappings closer to the end was very ridiculous. Maybe it’s time for James to hang up his hat. This movie was no Titanic or Avatar. This was just a case where he knew if he made it, we would come. And we did. The audience shuffled quietly out after the movie, no rumblings of how amazed anyone was like some of Cameron’s older flicks. Boy they used to be exciting!
