Defining the album as âcountry, is petty, petty, petty all the same to me, plain Jane, spaghettiâ.True art is expressive and is created without any labels; accordingly, BeyoncĂ©âs act ii is a cross between country, blues, folk, rock, opera, rap, pop, and R&B music with that distinctive BeyoncĂ© touch. Certain tracks like âYa Yaâ, âAlliigator Tearsâ, "Bodygardâ and â16 Carriagesâ make you feel like Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain and Alanis Morissette were respectively silently featured on the tracks. Her stirring vocals therefore appeal to melodies and audiences across history, genres, generations, and races, making her and her music a masterpiece.
You can hear that a lot of work and attention to detail have been put into this creative work of art. The collaboration of past and current artists and songs tells a story beyond BeyoncĂ©. There is a saying, âThe only time you look down on someone is while you are helping them up." With that said, it is humbling to see an icon like BeyoncĂ© collaborate with unsung country music artists on her album.
Sight letdowns are that some songs are short and therefore feel incomplete; in one instance, this feels compensated for by merging them into one single track. Furthermore, half the songs are covers or interpolations of classics, which lets it down for originality. BeyoncĂ©âs current and past original songs have and can always stand as masterpieces of their own...đ
