I would give it no stars if possible. I almost always finish books I start, even if I am not loving them, but I just could not with this one. Rocky’s inner monologue is just so annoying, self-centered, and just too much. I wanted to slap her. Some have said it is raw, but I found it to be forced with way too many topics and too many opinions all at once. I understand that the author may be trying to give the experience of women in menopause, but I just don’t even care enough about this annoying protagonist to bother. Her daughter, Willa, was infantile and unrealistic, at least in the 73 pages I was able to force myself through. I picked the book up because I did enjoy the humor, at first, but then it just became too forced.
