If you want to watch Mindy Kaling play as her own OC definitely watch the show. However, the reinventing of characters that were already great to begin with to fit a modernized version simply destroys the original and heartfelt characters already seen previously. Mindy distorts each individually and creates an issue of synergy that would have been found in the original version or other versions. As a POC, I think it's great to reinvent characters in a modestly good way but to deprive many of the characters of their traditional traits which have been around for many years creates a problem. It's not a good show and wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it.
