Turning Red is probably the most relatable movie released about teenage life since the start of modern television. It's so refreshing to see a character like Mei, who's rebellious and loud and (somewhat) cringey. It's like a fresh breath after the perfect, blonde-haired teens who never seem to do anything wrong. I loved how relatable Mei's relationship with her mom was. The depiction of generational trauma was so accurate and showed how it could impact everyone involved. And to all the people who say that this was too sexual or not for children, kids these days are growing up different from what you grew up as. If you think that a teen wearing animal ears and a tail is sexual, you're the problem. Overall, Turning Red is a very fun, nostalgia-invoking film and I love it. Thanks Disney!
