I met the great man back in the early 90s when he was touring in the UK and dating the insane sex goddess Vanessa Paradis. Oh my. Basically the coolest couple on the planet at the time. I was back stage after one of his gigs. When Lenny strutted off stage Vanessa fell into his arms and then he turned to me with Ms Paradis kissing his neck.
I froze. Star struck.
“Great show Mr Kravitz!” I shouted earnestly above the roar of the crowd behind him. To which he responded “Yeh. Way out man.”. I nodded enthusiastically and gave him thumbs up. Then the great man just looked at me confused. I looked back in mild panic. He smiled, composed himself and then purred “Where’s the way out man?”. Yep. How to be the ultimate uncool looser in front of the coolest couple on planet Earth at the time.
So what’s this new album like? It’s a great feel good summer album for 2024. Loose yourself in the beautiful bass lines, funky riffs, awesome lead guitar solos, thumping drums and his silky smooth vocals. Pour a cold one. Fire up the BBQ. Share the love in the sunshine. The achingly stylish effortlessly King of Cool is back. Turn it up and enjoy.
