Although they certainly achieved what they were setting out to achieve as far as positive cultural representation of both South American and Black/African cultures and honoring Chadwick Boseman this movie fell kind of flat in my opinion. They sacrificed what was a would have been concept to make the movie more than just a movie as far as representation. Nothing necessarily wrong with that and I can certainly appreciate what they were trying to achieve. That being said, purely as a marvel movie it was slow, drawn out, and is constantly blatantly trading good story telling for sending a message. If you’re going to see the movie, see the movie for what it represents not purely its entertainment value. If you go in looking for a great movie you might come out disappointed.
