It's not that the movie is bad, however if you read the book that this movie is biased off of "Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn" . There are several things that are not consistent at all for example Nick and Andie, in the movie Nick says "I've called you like a 100 times" when in the book its the other way around Andie is needy and clingy or how about the part in the movie where the cops go to check the mall when in the book its actually several men INCLUDING Amy's dad (which would have been more interesting) Also Tanner is suppose to be married and it is not mentioned at all his wife throws jellybeans not gummy bears that's just the start. Also the story line should be surrounding the treasure hunt and the clues however the treasure hunt in the movie is more of a foot note. I understand that you cannot put everything from the book into a movie but a huge amount of the story line is screwed up. What's the point is doing a movie on a book if your going to completely miss the important parts? I suggest watching the movie then reading the book may you'll be less disappointed.
