I am in the middle of the book and haven’t t made up my mind about her arguments. It was the ferocity of her detractors that see me to it. She’s clearly a seasoned journalist. At the very least Helen Joyce can not be dismissed as incompetent, hateful or stupid. The “Transphobic” label which is so often attached to her is a slur. And it’s a meaningless one. How can you know the person taking the opposite position suffers from a phobia? So, at the very least, Helen Joyce deserves a hearing. And since she makes many empirical claims there is no reason to engage in name calling. Just refute her factual claims, if you can. I’d love to see somebody who disagrees with her debate her.
