Feline Queen

One of the most if not the most elegant, poignant, touching and beautiful not just gay romance but romance movie that I have ever watched. It's the younger version of "A Single Man" and the royal upper-class version of "Brokeback Mountain" and I thought these two gay romance movies have proven how beautiful love between two gay men are but this movie just pushes it to a whole new level. And the movie is just so comforting to watch that it makes you realize just how much we miss the human touch since Covid. We thought we could just isolate ourselves and be fine and this movie just reminded us that no we can't, we need each other; we need love. I can't believe how beautifully done was the lovemaking scene that it came across as steamy and yet elegant, poignant and emotional at the same time. I find my heart racing and yet melting at every single tender touch until I feel warm all over every single time when I watch that scene. Yes I have watched the love-making scene many and many and many times over and so will you and every single time when you watch it, you will discover something new. That's just how beautiful and poignant that scene is. The acting from everybody in the movie is just outstanding that it makes the whole movie so enjoyable to watch but acting from Nicholas Galitzine just takes the cake (no pun intended). He treats his character with such sensitivity and meticulousness and his superb acting brings the character to life making it three-dimensional exposing the character's vulnerability and its crassness at the same time while still showing a loving and tender side that it desperately wants to show but is forced to suppress and hide. It certainly helps that Mr. Galitzine is unbelievably handsome with a natural air of elegance and classiness. Does it have something to do with him being a descendant of Russian nobility that he is just born with princely qualities? I wonder. And he can act and he can sing and can play the piano and the guitar and he is handsome and tall. I am truly convinced he is God's gift to us humans perhaps to compensate us for our ordeal with the pandemic. Watch the movie and you will realize it's worth 10 times the price of an Amazon Prime membership. At the same time, I will be certainly following Nicholas' works from now on. He has a lot of potential to be a great actor.

Well I guess the planet will always be a safer place when we have Sparta protecting us. And even when he is in space, he did not rather float away and die instead of spending one more minute with a woman his age as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler alleged about George Clooney; no he actually stayed with her till the end until they both landed safely on earth. Maybe because she is half of his age? I dunno. It's a feel-good movie. After all those disasters, we humankind still survived because of not just one white guy this time, but two white guys and a white woman and of course the President of United States. LOL And all of the scientists of other ethnicities except of those of African descent all died. Well at least they were smart enough to have discovered the truth before anyone else and tried also to do something with it to save the world but because they are not white, they get to die. Oh well at least the African descent ones get to live, yay for diversity!! Overall, despite all of the countless scientific errors that I have been told that the movie committed, it is still an incredibly enjoyable movie with all of the spectacular special and sound effects and the touching moment of a boy reuniting with his dog after the sky cleared. Global warming is real, destructive natural disasters are and already on their way and we all have to pull together as one planet to stop it, that is true. And ironically the only way and the most effective way to do it is to actually stop having children. Yes we all know which countries we are talking about. Human population growth is the most unsustainable growth on earth right now and is the source of all climate destructions. At least China's done something concrete about it. Yes some of its policy actions is as drastic as Thanos, creating several generations of children without siblings and subsequent generations without uncles or aunts, but it curbed the population. Even with these forced policy actions, China is still the most populous country in the world. Can you imagine if it didn't and just let its population grow without control like one of its neighbours? Having one country doing its part is not enough, all countries especially those with cultures who believe in big families need to do their part to curtail their population so geostorms like what's depicted in this movie would not one day become reality.

It's a movie with a stellar cast but it's just not enjoyable to watch. The movie Outbreak starring Dustin Hoffman and Rene Russo is MUCH better for some reason when it's dealing with the same genre, medical disaster. Somehow this movie, the pace is slow, its storyline is disorganized and the cast of who's who is very confusing with none of them properly introduced so you never who they are and who do they work for and what they do. It's just myriads of chaotic action thrown together one after another. And worst of all it left many plotlines developed but never properly close off for example, the husband of patient zero of the virus seems to be immune to the virus. Why is he immune? Is his immunity being passed to his daughter? Can we somehow harvest his immunity to develop a faster and better cure? Nobody knows and nobody cares. The movie just throws that plotline there and leaves it there for the audiences to wonder and that's it. And it's not true like what they stated in the movie that vaccines cannot be made out of blood serums of somebody who has immunity. One of the effective vaccines against the Ebola virus was made out of the blood serum of somebody who had known immunity against the virus. Overall the movie is a bit of disappointment. With multiple Oscar-winning actors like Kate Winslet, Marion Coutillard and Gwyneth Paltrow there, I expected better.

Would've been better if Quentin Tarantino made it but it's still entertaining and watchable. Some of the scenes could've been more credible but other than that, it's a good 118 minutes time well spent. Much better than "Otherhood" and much better than its sequel. And this movie really grows on you. After a while, it makes you still want to go back to watch this movie and the more that you watch this movie, the more you will like it. It is still one of the best choreographed, edited, shot action movie out there. Plus you have an outstanding ensemble cast down to the supporting actors who made this movie absolutely enjoyable.

To its fairness, the movie does eventually reach its final point towards the end to address some of the issues in mother-son relationship and rather in any parent-children relationship but really doesn't address the special dynamic that is unique in a mother-son relationship and the causes of the issues that were existing in the relationship; rather it just provided some cliché, quick-fix solution to all of the issues and conflicts that were raised in each of the mother-son duo situations but doesn't do more to explore and examine them in-depth to really understand them and resolve them leaving really many of the issues still unresolved emotions unaccounted for and many things still unsaid. And that is if you get through the first half of the movie with the mothers stumbling to New York to confront their sons for not getting touch with them for Mother's Day but ended up really being women "finding themselves" à la "Sex In the City" style with pigging out, getting drunk with tequilla shots, lots of tequilla shots, go clubbing, go dancing, singing and then bad hungover and that miraculously seem to solve all the problems which makes you wonder if all it needed to make those women happy were just pigging out, getting drunk and go clubing then why the hell involve their sons, disturbing their lives, meddling in their personal affairs in the first place. It makes the "Mothers' Visits" which the entire movie is based on completely irrelevant that the movie could almost be titled "Sex In the City 3: Empty Nest". Overall it's really a shame that a movie that has so much material to work with in terms of its theme and storyline ends up being so flat, empty, simplistic, superficial and at times awkward and unrealistic (like Daniel going back to Erin and even marrying her -NO men in real life would ever go back and marry somebody who cheated on them when they were about to propose) especially when there is such a strong cast with so much talent that you really feel so sorry for them that their talent is really wasted on this movie. Yes we understand that the movie is supposed to be a light rom-com that involves family but there could still be so much more and not to be so formulastic. One really wish that some more competent directors and screenwriters can take this story and do a complete remake of this movie with even the same cast; that would be the only way to do the story and the cast justice.

One of the worst adaptations of Cinderella. No character development, the costumes are all over the place (Cinderella's dress to the ball is the ugliest version in all adaptations that looks so cheap and at the same time awkward that it looks like concoctions out of a cake with a ridiculous flower bouquet on the butt), no plot, no story except a supper-supposition of modern-day, men-stay-home-women-realize-your-dream female empowerment spin on a classic fairy tale. The ONLY ONLY reason why I am giving a three star to the review is all due to the new star Nicholas Galitzine in the movie. He is the only highlight of the movie; he can sing, he can act, he can play the piano, he can basically do everything and it's just a wonderful delight to watch him. He is so elegant and classy that every single movie is elevated once he is in it (I wonder if that has something to do with him being a descendant of Russian nobility) Nicholas' not just a talented actor but he's got a killer voice and great singing skill. I skipped pretty much the whole movie and just watched him (and Pierce Brosnan) and I didn't miss a thing and neither would you.

A great movie that's both funny (Candice Bergen is in it, how can it not be funny?) and thought-provoking and romantic and heart-warming. It's so wonderful also to see so many great actors/actresses having so much fun. Really happy for them! Beautiful scenery of Arizona btw, really makes me want to move there.

Fantastic show!! One of a sleuth of outstanding shows that NetFlix has recently presented. Some of the plots are a bit inconceivable and unthinkable that this is what CIA really is and quite concerning if this is what CIA really is. CIA is going to have a major problem recruiting new employees if it is really how it's depicted in the show. Overall, the show is exciting and entertaining to watch and really wish it's renewed for a second season.

Outstanding movie with very touching and real acting, too real in fact that I didn't have the heart to finish watching the whole movie. Seeing 118 men dying because of bureaucracy, corruption, screw-up's of an incompetent government and watching their loved ones who are left behind to suffer was just too much. Going to Wikipedia to read about what happened and watching some of the youtube videos of mothers of some of the perished young sailors angrily demanding for answers from a callous government was enough. If you do have the nerve to finish watching the movie till the end, be prepared to have lots and lots and lots of boxes of Kleenexes.
