Well. Blizzard took something beautiful, tried to re-shape it with a sledge hammer, and then covered it in some glitter. Where do i start. As far as the gameplay goes, it's about like normal. They just put some fresh lipstick on a well ridden pig. They also changed several hero abilities, which really screwed up my decently honed gameplay with them. I can see some rebalancing at work, switching things up so the OG's don't stomp the newbies. There's a few new interesting game modes and some neat new maps. That's about where my being.. neutral about the whole thing ends. The thing that upsets me the most is this new battlepass nonsense. *cough cough* cash grab *cough cough*. Which locks you out of using probably a little over 50% of the characters. There's a free track where you can play some crazy amount of overwatch to level up through your "battle pass" ranks. and at certain points you unlock more characters, and then there's special challenges which still show up blank for me. Or you can go ahead and buy a premium battle pass for 10 dollars every few months to play with all of them. My problem with that is I PAID for the original game. I even showed support and bought some coins for some neat skins here and there to continue to contribute of my own free will. Now, they've made OW1 entirely unavailable. They've re-done half the characters to the point I barely recognize them. They've added a few new horribly OP characters which they will surely nerf the heck out of. AND they've made half the characters unplayable without buying into their little cash grab nonsense or grinding away at the game playing a very limited selection of characters you may or may not like. Which is a ridiculous thing for casual players like myself. I feel robbed, long story short. As I'm sure many of you do. Here i bought the game AND skins for characters I can now not even play. Way to ruin another game blizzard. I have largely been a fan for the last 17 years. Now here I am publicly shaming you for being con artists with dollar signs for eyes. Let it be said that I will never purchase another blizzard game so long as I live. Your greed has cost you a loyal customer.
