It’s a slightly less polished Hollow Knight, if you enjoy that you’ll enjoy this.
To those thinking it’s too hard, it’s supposed to be! If you keep trying eventually you won’t get hurt (as much), even on the bosses that are seemingly impossible at first. Suddenly you’ll finish them without barely getting hurt at all and would be entirely confident doing it straight off again.
Rather than games that level you up so you can just absorb and do more damage to fight ‘harder’ enemies, without actually getting any better at the game, instead you learn quite quickly that getting hit, at all, by anything, is gunna hurt. You HAVE to learn what distances to take, when to hit, when to block, when to roll, and always be ready to counter. Then you learn what’s best to do after the counter, etc etc. Every enemy type needs a slightly different approach, and when you nail it you will progress.
The game rewards grinding, but grinding away at certain bits to learn rather than just to level up.
If you can’t cope with dying and redoing you won’t enjoy it, for the rest of us it’s a nice little hidden gem.
