I personally enjoy the TV show; however, I don't find it exceptional. I am entertained by some of its adherence to the book, yet it appears that Disney is reluctant to invest heavily in it and its CGI, much like other recent Marvel productions. The CGI quality in recent Marvel projects, such as She-Hulk, has been subpar. This trend suggests that the studio may be scaling back on CGI due to disappointing outcomes, which is concerning for a franchise aiming to create an immersive fictional universe. Reflecting on the first Percy Jackson films, the high-quality CGI greatly enhanced the viewing experience. Incorporating such attention to CGI detail could significantly improve this TV show.
I must clarify that I'm not suggesting the existing CGI in the show is poor. Rather, it seems the studio is reducing the amount of CGI used due to past failures, which is worrying because this series could greatly benefit from extensive CGI.
All in all, the actors' performances are commendable, and the directing appears to be of high quality, making it a worthwhile TV show.
