Brutally Honest Review and Breakdown:
Zombies (My personal favorite as I’m a high round achievement runner): Unfortunately meh, it feels like an afterthought to the game and the “Games as a live service” mentality means everyone is left hoping they’ll add something worthwhile instead of a heads up on 4 DLC maps with consistent gameplay. Same zombies bugs returns as they can’t seem to fix the system so your turned zombies don’t rush you doing zero damage or you get teleported to the aether and stuck inside a crate. That’s if it’s not an afk bot grinding experience or you join into a match in progress where everyone already left because of the hosts ping. 2/5 because I love zombies, should be 1/5 because with how much money and time the company has had to get their system right there’s no reason for most of the errors.
Multiplayer: 0/5. -1/5. 0/100. Sadly the remastered maps play better and feel like smoother kill/objective rotations than ANY of the new maps. At least 3 new maps are so painfully small you are actually one barrier hop away from shooting into the enemy spawn. Spawns are slightly faster which means you get less value for killing an entire team off an objective before 3 are immediately back and 1 shoots you from behind. Guns are hilariously imbalanced. Many require level 48+ in your weapon to unlock attachments that allow it to even equal base or blueprint weapons. SMGs can 3 shot in core while an assault rifle can take 5-7 hits at base. Hardcore is a joke as well since it’s the only mode with any relative balance. But it’s only because every single weapon in the game has one shot potential. Kill streaks carry over through deaths so even if the enemy isn’t on a spree, you can bet they saved all their score for the second round. Matchmaking is a joke, due to the prestige system level 600-900 is really 5,000 at least and you can bet money more often than not your new day 1 scrub hind end is gonna get eaten alive by 3-5 of them on each team every single match. Oh and half of the operators are battle pass or micro transactions. And you can get better guns from micro transactions. So everyone else who spent 300$ on the game is going to spawn kill you bc you wanted to spend 60.
Campaign: Haven’t touched it. Let’s be honest we didn’t buy call of duty for its single player story.
Synopsis: This game is beyond broken and bugged. Horribly put together and designed. The graphics quality bragged about is hardly par to any other modern releases, the same system which has been tested for some 15 years has been tweaked to the point where only reverting it can feasibly repair the damage. It’s excruciating to see and play modern maps that can’t hold up even a candle light to maps that are 4+ years old in design. Much more detail could’ve been given, a novel even, about the amount of bugs/exploits/cheaters I have encountered within 6 hours of multiplayer and 24 hours of zombies. Matches are terribly inconsistent and you may have a phenomenal even match with similar levels or people who can get past round 5 on zombies without afking, but then immediately need to leave 5 lobbies in a row to find a match worth even street garbage level quality of playing.
