Spoilers****
I think a lot of people missed the point with this movie. It is 100% meant to be depressing. It is following the aftermath of Lee's life when one of the most traumatic things that could happen to a person happens.
For those of who watched it that were waiting for a redemption arc or some different outcome your expectations are unrealistic. He was never going to stay in that town. Not after what happened.
The scene between him and Randi was so unbearably hard to watch. It felt real. It was incredible acting and I felt like I was intruding on a moment I shouldn't have been seeing. Good cinema is meant to invoke feeling and this movie does that 10 fold.
Having said all of that if you are looking for a feel good flick move on to the next because this movie will leave you empty for a few hours-days.
