(SPOILERS) I'm not a big fan of war movies. I always thought that the mostly gray and blue visuals made everything feel boring. But dang, this movie is a masterpiece. I can't even name every single thing I loved about it. Perfectly captures the horrors of war while also making it an action packed thrill of an adventure for the characters we meet. Speaking of the characters, BRILLIANTLY written. You can go from thinking these characters are jerkfaces and you end up loving them and feeling gut wrenched when you see them go. Amazing character development as well. We feel and understand the journey of the main character Norman, and we see Wardaddys soft side come out slowly. Cinematography and Music and sound is absolute perfection.

This movie is unironically a masterpiece. It has the premise that generally works as a kids Pixar movie. However, I've never been so impressed with a modern movie that takes a simple plot (A dog becomes a stray and meets friends who agree to get revenge on the owner) and delivers flawlessly! I lost all hope in Comedy movies long ago, but I was surprised at how this movie is laugh-out-loud funny and is jam packed with so many clever jokes! Also very talented cast, how could someone not like the performances they give? Two thumbs up!
