It was a beautifully done movie, but I felt so out of sorts as I watched it. It initially showed a portion of the story that seemed like it was in the wrong place. Then it says "7 years prior", or something like that, and I thought, oh good, now I know where we are time wise. Then...OMG! It took me about an hour to catch the rapid flipping, unannounced, back and forth. They are dating, then they are married, then she is going to a dance to try and meet a beau. She is sick and sister has short hair, then sick and sister is long haired, then she dies, and the next scene she is decorating for another sister's wedding. On and on. I read (and cherished) the book many times, saw the movie from the 90s and loved it. I was worrying this was a sign of dementia! I talked to the woman beside me after it was over and realized I was not the only one having this strange experience of more than just disappointment. I should have gone to see Frozen 2 instead.
