I watched Midway with my two teenage daughters last Saturday evening. In their growing up years I somehow have influenced them about history. So somehow, Midway was not going to be one of those movies about history they will let pass. They feel the need to watch it! They already were excited just from the start, thinking it was only about Midway. But it was more than we expected. And we were absolutely not disappointed. My eldest daughter started doing the speech of FDR word for word, at that part about the attack on Pearl Harbor. Then the Doolittle Raid, everything was really accurate. Even the heroic acts of the lower ranking sailors were included in the scenes, and the way they died were part of the whole drama and excitement. There was even a part in the movie when my youngest daughter almost stood up from her seat. I highly recommend this movie and it is worth watching because it is the true accounts of brave men and even women, old and young who made history.
