Tyler Perry’s movie "The Six Triple Eight" is a poignant and powerful production that deeply resonates, especially as a Black nurse in America. The film highlights the struggles and resilience of the women in the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion during World War II. Their leader's strength and dignity are truly inspiring, and the way the women were handled evokes a profound sense of pain and empathy. The emotional journey captured in the film, from their hardships to their triumphs, is beautifully portrayed and brought tears to my eyes.
As a Black nurse, I too face difficulties, particularly with some white patients who act like I'm not good enough. Despite this, I always give my best, just like the women in the movie. This film is a moving tribute to their legacy and a reminder of the incredible strength and perseverance of Black women throughout history.
