Ok let me start by saying that I’ve always been a horror fan and have seen from the 80’s till present day. I can get onboard with body horror when that’s the narrative of the film and it’s fitting to the story but this just didn’t do it right. Until the last half an hour I quite liked this film but it just went too far without me really feeling like it was warranted. It got to almost comical proportions which ruined what was a competent film up until that point. It was like the writer/director thought to themselves how can we attempt to gross the audience out? Well it didn’t gross me out at all, all it did was make me think, really??? Could you have thought of a more stupid way to end this??? The prolonged blood splatter felt like it went on for an age, I was getting bored and though god just end this before it gets even more ridiculous and taints the film even more, the fact that the monster could get all the way back to the studio without being seen by anyone on the street and make it all the way to the stage was a joke. I don’t know what else to say apart from this is a film that could of been good but was ruined by a ridiculous last half hour, had it finished earlier with the monster just finishing itself off I would of scored it more and potentially watched it again but it will be forever tainted by the over reach of the writer/director. It’s an ok watch but be prepared to be disappointed.
