I read this book about twenty years ago. I really enjoyed this autobiographical tale of faith, love and motivation. Obeying a call from God, George traveled to Tibet and tried, fruitlessly, to alert the world to the plight of the Tibetan people after the Chinese invaded the Himalayan country but no one came to the rescue. A sad, but truly enlightening read about power and cultural genocide.
An excellent read for those who believe in a power that is much greater than human might. And if you don't, you'll still enjoy his experiences of the country and its people.
The world has now accepted Tibet's fate under Chinese colonization, a secularly driven state that views spirituality as a threat to their status quo.
