Dutchgirl Happy

I watched the original (7th time) after and there is no comparison. The first movie is so much better. The best part about WW 84 is Cheetah. I wasn't expecting much from Kristin Wiig's character but I was pleasantly surprised. I wish she had more screen time. There was too much (slow) dialogue and not enough action. The writing wasn't as good as the original. There was too much screen time for Pedro Pascal's character who I didn't really enjoy (and I fell in love w Pedro on GOT). The storyline was cheesy at times like with the mall sequence. It was great to see Chris Pine again as Steve Trevor even though the storyline to get him back was lacking. Some of the acting from the extras was bad. The script could have been so much better. The (white male lead) studio should have spent less time trying to screw a female director out of gender equal pay in order to allow for more time and money to create a better film. This film was a huge let down because it had so much potential to be even better than the first one. We need Wonder Woman and I hope there is a third installment. When done right these movies can be a great success as evident by the first one. Loved that there were strong female leads and characters. We need more female leads and more females of color. I should have given this movie less stars but I'm going to watch it one more time in the hopes it's better the second time around. If not I'm lowering my stars. Maybe they should do what the Marvel Universe does and hire a different FEMALE director/writer(s) for each sequel to keep it fresh and enjoyable.
