I thoroughly enjoyed this film, despite some of the negative reviews. It meanders at times and some scenes appear to be disjointed or put in for the visual impact rather than for the context of the story, but, I enjoyed the overall message of this film. Are we destined to repeat history? Are we a society so removed from reality and purpose that we force its extinction? Can we save ourselves from our own selfish desires? Greed, lust, corruption, misinformation, ignorance. Coppola puts it all out there in a kaleidoscope of imagery and visual effects. It’s not for everyone, but it’s definitely a ride.

Emma Thompson is fearless. Her performance in this film shows a vulnerability not many actresses would have the courage to share.
