I was looking forward to watching the film as the trailer looked so good but I was disappointed to say the least. Austin Butler gave a phenomenal performance but otherwise, this film was lacking in so many ways. It was chaotic, hard to follow and the timeline was confusing. Colonel Tom Parker was more like a bad cartoon villain and the director barely touched on the important relationships Elvis had with his wife, father and other family and friends. The nuances that made Elvis the King were missing and I kept waiting for the film to get better but it definitely didn’t.
