It’s not terrible and it might still improve however as it currently is wizards beyond waverly place is trying way to hard to be wizards of waverly place without putting any of the legwork into actually understanding what made wizards so beloved.
Billy is *very* clearly Alex2.0 and Roman is Justin2.0 but with no magic thus losing the interest of the competition between the two to be the better wizard billy and Roman are instead barely opposing each other, with billy going: im gonna use magic and Roman going: that’s a terrible idea but it’s not like I know anything about magic so go ahead.
Justin has married a mortal woman and yet still has his magic despite
A:having lost the family magic competition, he only has magic because of being a magical headmaster, which he was fired from being
And
B:according to wizards of Waverly Place you need to give up your magic if you marry a mortal.
Justin’s sons are mortal despite him still having magic.
Also there has yet to be *a single* mention of Juliet, could they just not get Bridgit Mendler back? I’d understand if that was the case as she is now working with NASA but to not even mention his ex from the original that he was still with at the end? I’m disappointed as Justin and Juliet was the *best* couple of the original😅 and I hope they eventually get around to explaining why they broke up
And Alex, despite selena gomez being an executive producer, only shows up in one episode so far.
