Such mixed emotions with this one. At times there is this background score with Shlokas that gives you goosebumps while at others there are dialogues like “Ustad ka khoon” explaining maya astra that you were forced to 🤦‍♂️. The better dialogues could have added soo much to the intense scenes. The conversation between Alia and Ranveer is soo cringy that it led me to think “aise kaun baat karta hai bhai” at numerous times. Alia’s character development wise I think they could have taken a leaf out of Iron Man 3 where Pepper Potts actually helps Iron Man in the climax to defeat the bad guys and not just act as his vulnerability. I believe in Bollywood there is still a long way to go when writing strong female characters and really empowering women in the true sense of the word.

Poor character development along with wooden acting and sluggish pace makes it a snoozefest. Galadriel who is thousands of years old by this time acts like a modern day teenager. Elf dialogues are pompous without any substance and let’s not go into the story arc of harfoots which is simply abysmal. One of the most fascinating worlds created by a legendary author has been reduced to a slow paced, mediocre second grade fantasy tv drama. I wonder why couldn’t they spend few millions out of gazzilion dollars of the budget on story writing and better actors
