Just watched James Gunn's Superman in pvr pavilion, and it’s honestly heartbreaking. This didn’t feel like a Superman movie it felt like a second rate Marvel film with a red cape thrown on top.
The movie is packed with juvenile, forced jokes that ruin any serious moment. That whole Jor-El scene ? Absolutely terrible awkward, rushed, and stripped of any emotional depth. Its been 3 years since Clark became Superman, and he still feels uncertain, weak, and one dimensional. Worse, all he does is yell instead of inspire.
And dont even get me started on Lex Luthor, bland, forgettable, and written with zero impact. One of the worst Lex versions ever. Maybe we treated jesse eisenberg too harshly..he was better tbh..i wanna say sorry to him, i misunderstood his charecter that time.
The CGI and VFX are shockingly poor for a film with a $250 million budget. Seriously, where did that money go? It didnt show up on screen, thats for sure. Its just like the flash and shezam..dumb and poor.
This is Superman, the most iconic superhero in history. A Superman movie should aim to be epic, emotional, and timeless not quirky and chaotic.
Childish Marvel fans will probably love this, but if ur someone who truly understands DC’s tone, weight, and legacy, this ones just not for you.
Skip it. Watching my favorite hero reduced to this was painful.
