Movie was horrible. Not even a single star if it was possible. The story is nothing like the original. Somehow the movie took every direction it could without explaining what just happened. Including what appeared to be 3 seperate candyman stories and people coming together. The main character that seemed like it was changing or becoming the Candyman but then the original that magicaly showed up on the last 5 minutes. They changed it's story to take on a literal meaning to Candy Man. With partial truth to the last movie. Seemed like a rushed unplanned mess that was mashed together with little thought.
Also throughout the movie it was extremely passive agressive to modern day issues keeping it cringy and political. From police brutality to an unnecessary involvement of a gay interracial couple that added little substance to the story and suggesting white people forced these minorities into the ghetto. Yet every scene was in luxury in the suburban area of downtown Chicago. The execution seemed disconnected from the plot. They should of left the original alone. Not worth the time to watch unless you enjoy wokeness with horror. 🤮🤮
