Willie Wonka and Chalamet really deliver in this delightful musical that takes us inside the early life of an ingenious young man who was raised on love and loss. Wonka is a gem of a guy who mixes magic with Chocolate, music, and dance to bring people together. As a Oompa Lumpa sidekick, Hugh Grant is irrestible and yes he does the little dance. Finally we learn more about the little people and why the Oompa Lumpas end up helping Wonka make his Chocolate. The story nicely adds elements to support the original Gene Wider version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If one can forget the Depp debacle entirely and forgive Depp his sins, maybe we can all finally move on from here. This new movie helps continue the story while respecting the past. An instant classic in my opinion and not a scary bone in its body this is a must see for children and adults of all ages.
